
Welcome to the Advocacy: #PushForward4Equality in Southern Africa Fellowship
Welcome to the Gender Links Academy's Advocacy: #PushForward4Equality in Southern Africa programme.
This one-year fellowship brings together young women leaders from across Southern Africa to strengthen feminist advocacy, regional engagement, evidence-based action, policy influence and strategic communications.
The programme combines:
- In-person learning
- Experiential advocacy opportunities
- Online mentorship
- Peer learning
- Applied advocacy practice
The learning journey is organised around six interconnected themes:
Module 1: Southern Africa and the Alliance
Understanding SADC, the SADC Gender Protocol, regional advocacy and movement-building.
Module 2: Intersectionality and Feminist Leadership
Exploring feminist leadership, diversity, inclusion and intersectionality.
Module 3: Research and Evidence for Advocacy
Using evidence, research and documentation to strengthen advocacy.
Module 4: Lobbying and Policy Engagement
Developing practical skills for influencing decision makers and policy processes.
Module 5: Advocacy Plan Development
Designing, implementing and adapting advocacy plans.
Module 6: Communications for Advocacy
Using storytelling, media and communications to amplify advocacy efforts.
